Garden opening times:
Monday – Friday 9am-5pm

Dear friends supporters and followers,

It is with heavy hearts that we must let you know that it is very likely that this is the last week of St Mary’s Secret Garden.

The charity is in a very difficult financial position and it is unlikely that we will be in operation after Friday 29th November. We will let you know if anything changes in the next few days.

We wanted to say thank you for everything over the years, and express how sad we are to be closing after such a long time serving our community.

If you would like to come and say goodbye, grab a last plant or jar of honey or just a final wander around please make sure you come to the garden before sunset on Friday.

Farewell and thank you,
St Mary’s Secret Garden Team

We have teamed up with the Huddleston Centre and VisionAbility to run a new project called The Readability Project.

The Readability project aims to:
– train people to understand easy read and create easy read translations.
– collect and collate photos to develop a local repository of images for use in translating local easy read documents.
– develop a kitemark for, and encourage organisations to sign up to the City and Hackney Learning Disability Charter.

We are currently registering Autistic and Learning Disabled individuals, and professionals from Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations who would like training in the use of Microsoft Icons and photos to create and develop easy read documents.

The training is due to start soon so if you are interested in learning how to produce easy read documents please email us to let us know now.

We will then be in touch with interested people to provide more information and the training dates.
Please contact us at info@stmarysgarden.org.uk to get involved.
